Star Detective Precure! Episode 28 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Kurea Becomes a Detective and Already Has Her First Client

The story and preview images for Episode 28 of the new anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long running Precure series, have been revealed. The episode will air on August 9 at 8:30 AM (JST).

Episode 28 Story

After arranging her shifts at Patisserie Chouchou so that she can also work as a detective, Kurea Howa arrives at the Curett Detective Agency. Just then, Paul, an exchange student from London, rushes in asking for help while mixing English into his speech.

Paul says that he has received a notice from the Phantom Thieves Guild. The message reads, “Today, at 6:12:38, we will take the doll.” However, unlike their previous notices, this one is strangely decorated with hearts, stars, and other patterns.

Anna and the others visit the apartment where Paul lives and take a look at the doll mentioned in the notice. It is a French doll, a bisque doll, that has been passed down through Paul’s family for generations.

Anna and the others once again focus on the unusually precise time written in the notice, “6:12:38.” According to Paul, however, an air conditioner repair technician, a furniture delivery worker, and a computer delivery worker are all scheduled to arrive around 6:00.

Suspecting the three of them, Anna and the others decide to wait until the time specified in the notice.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
