My Hero Academia Creator Unveils New Illustration Featuring All Star Cast to Celebrate I am a hero too Release

The My Hero Academia special anime short I am a hero too is now streaming across multiple platforms. To mark its release, original creator Kohei Horikoshi shared a commemorative illustration.

Horikoshi encouraged fans to watch the new episode, writing, “Sorry for the late announcement! A brand new My Hero Academia anime short is now streaming! Amazing! Please watch it.”

Eri Takes Another Step Toward Her Dream

I am a hero too is based on a special one shot story drawn by Horikoshi for the official fan book My Hero Academia Ultra Age, which was released in December 2024.

During the Hero Intern and Shie Hassaikai Arc in the anime’s fourth season, Deku rescued a young girl named Eri from Kai Chisaki, also known as Overhaul, the young head of the Shie Hassaikai.

Eight years after Deku and his classmates graduated from U.A. High School, Eri has grown into a high school student herself. As a child, she said that she wanted to sing, and she was later shown smiling with a guitar case in the series finale.

The new story follows Eri as she visits U.A. High School one day and once again begins moving toward her dream. Horikoshi’s commemorative illustration brings together a large group of characters, including Deku and a young Eri.

About My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia takes place in a world where supernatural abilities known as Quirks have become commonplace. The story follows protagonist Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, as he trains to become a hero who protects society and confronts criminals known as Villains who misuse their Quirks. Alongside his classmates, he grows as a hero at the prestigious U.A. High School.

The original manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014 and concluded on August 5, 2024. The series has more than 100 million copies in circulation.

The television anime premiered in April 2016. Eight seasons were produced, and the series aired its final episode on December 13, 2025.
