SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 Set for January 2027 Release, New Visual and Trailer Unveiled Alongside Additional Cast Announcements
SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 is officially set to premiere in January 2027. Along with the announcement, a new teaser visual, teaser trailer, details on new director Daisuke Nakajima, and three additional cast members were revealed.

New Visual Hints at the JCC Infiltration Arc
The newly released visual features Taro Sakamoto and Shin Asakura standing back to back as they prepare to infiltrate the Japan Clear Creation Academy (JCC). Sakamoto holds the pen that was randomly assigned as a weapon during the first entrance examination, while Shin is shown wearing a new pair of gloves as part of his upgraded equipment.
The visual teases the intense battles and challenges awaiting the duo as Season 2 begins.

Teaser Trailer Showcases New Characters and Returning Favorites
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse of Sakamoto disguised as his wife Aoi Sakamoto while infiltrating the academy as a student teacher. Meanwhile, Shin attends classes as a student while secretly gathering information inside JCC.
Returning characters such as Natsuki Seba and Akira Akao also make appearances. In addition, several major new characters are introduced, including Amane Yotsumura, a top student with a strong hatred toward the Japanese Association of Assassins, Etsuko Satoda, a veteran instructor at JCC, and Satoru Yotsumura, a mysterious figure involved in the creation of ORDER.
These additions further raise anticipation for the upcoming season.

Daisuke Nakajima Takes Over as Director
Daisuke Nakajima, who has been involved with the anime since Season 1, will serve as director for Season 2.
Nakajima commented:
"I am honored to direct such a hugely popular Weekly Shonen Jump series. I want to fully capture the stylish action and unique philosophies of the many assassins created by Yuto Suzuki. Building on the work of Season 1, our team is passionately working to bring the original manga's energy, scale, and excitement to life through animation. To all existing fans and those who will discover the series in the future, please look forward to the reopening of business in Season 2."

Amane Yotsumura is a JCC student who harbors deep hostility toward the Japanese Association of Assassins. He encounters Sakamoto and Shin during their infiltration mission.
Toya commented that Amane initially struck him as a straightforward young man who deeply cares about both friends and family. However, he also possesses a dangerous side born from the intensity of his convictions. Toya added that recording sessions have been incredibly enjoyable, praising both the humor and action of the anime.

Etsuko Satoda
Voiced by Misa Watanabe
Etsuko Satoda is the longest serving instructor at JCC.
Watanabe described the role as one of the most rewarding performances of her career. While Satoda initially appeared intimidating and cool, she later learned that the character is deeply caring toward her students, which influenced her approach to the role.

Satoru Yotsumura
Voiced by Shinshu Fuji
Satoru Yotsumura is one of the founding members of ORDER.
Fuji explained that while the character initially seemed like a reserved and cynical man, further exploration revealed him to be someone driven by deep affection and loyalty. He expressed excitement about bringing the character to life for viewers.
