Live Action SAKAMOTO DAYS Unveils Stunningly Faithful Scene Photos as Ren Meguro Showcases the Full Contrast Between Sakamoto’s Plump and Serious Modes

A total of 25 newly released scene images from the live action film SAKAMOTO DAYS, starring Ren Meguro and set to premiere on April 29, have been unveiled. These visuals include first look cuts that fully capture the unique world and charm of the story.

The film is based on the manga of the same name by Yuto Suzuki, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha, and is directed by Yuichi Fukuda. It tells the story of Sakamoto, once the strongest assassin, who leaves the underworld after getting married. While living a peaceful life running a family shop, he becomes the target of former enemies in this action comedy.

Ren Meguro takes on the challenging role of Sakamoto, portraying two contrasting forms: a 140 kilogram gentle and plump version, and a sharply refined and lean version that emerges in serious combat mode. He also performs intense action scenes that showcase superhuman abilities.

The supporting cast includes Fumiya Takahashi as Sakamoto’s partner Shin Asakura, Aya Ueto as Sakamoto’s beloved wife Aoi, along with Mayu Yokota, Junki Tozuka, Akihisa Shiono, Keisuke Watanabe, Takumi Kitamura, Yusei Yagi, Meru Nukumi, Shinya Kote, Hinako Sakurai, Shintaro Anzai, Koji Kato, and Kenjiro Tsuda.

The released images feature incredibly faithful recreations of the original characters, dynamic action sequences that hint at intense battles, and heartwarming moments from the daily life of the Sakamoto family.

A total of 16 characters are brought to life with remarkable accuracy by the cast and crew, including both the plump and slim versions of Sakamoto portrayed by Meguro. The images also showcase anticipated battle scenes between Sakamoto and Kashima, as well as between Shin and Seba.

Additionally, the visuals include warm family moments such as Sakamoto relaxing while eating potato chips, smiling scenes with Aoi, and their daughter Hana. Other scenes depict Sakamoto and his companions sitting formally on a bench in front of Aoi, reflecting the family’s everyday life.
