Kamen Rider Kabuto 20th marks a long-awaited return as a completely new film project, celebrating the iconic series with a theatrical release and home video launch.

A New Chapter Begins for Kamen Rider Kabuto

The V-Cinext film Kamen Rider Kabuto 20th: Ten wo Tsugu Mono (JP: 仮面ライダーカブト 天を継ぐもの) has been officially announced. It will receive a limited theatrical screening starting November 6 at Shinjuku Wald 9 and other venues, followed by Blu ray and DVD releases on February 10, 2027. Special editions include versions bundled with the CSM Atlas Zecter.

Alongside the announcement, a teaser trailer and teaser visual were revealed.

Originally broadcast from January 2006 to January 2007, Kamen Rider Kabuto tells the story of Soji Tendou, also known as Kamen Rider Kabuto, a man who walks the path of heaven and rules over all. The series centers on the battle between the Worms, extraterrestrial beings capable of mimicking humans, and ZECT, a secret organization created to combat them.

20th Anniversary Project Driven by Fan Support

Earlier this year, the Kamen Rider 55th anniversary project generated major buzz on social media. In the “Kamen Rider Movie Project” fan voting campaign, Kamen Rider Kabuto secured first place among many passionate supporters.

The newly announced film inherits the same title and logo that gained attention during the project, solidifying Ten wo Tsugu Mono as the official title of this new installment.

Returning Cast and Familiar Faces

The newly revealed cast includes:

Yuki Sato as Arata Kagami also known as Kamen Rider Gatack, a former ZECT member who became a police officer after the original series
Hidenori Tokuyama as Sou Yaguruma also known as Kamen Rider TheBee, former leader of ZECT elite unit Shadow
Kazuki Kato as Daisuke Kazama also known as Kamen Rider Drake, now working as a makeup artist
Tomohisa Yuge as Masato Mishima, a ZECT executive presumed defeated in the original finale
Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi as Shuichi Tadokoro, a strict team leader within ZECT
Hakutaro Honda as Riku Kagami, former head of ZECT and father of Arata Kagami

These familiar characters reunite, bringing back the legacy of the original series.

easer Visual Hints at a New Conflict

The teaser visual features Kamen Rider Gatack alongside a mysterious original white Kamen Rider, set against a backdrop of towering buildings in Shibuya. The tagline asks: “Will humanity inherit heaven or will it be the Worms?”

The imagery suggests that the battle against the Worms, once thought to be over, is beginning again.

The 15 second teaser trailer opens with Kabuto’s iconic pose pointing to the sky. It showcases Arata Kagami, Sou Yaguruma, Daisuke Kazama, and Masato Mishima wearing an unfamiliar belt. Alongside Gatack, TheBee, Drake, and KickHopper, two original Kamen Riders will appear in the film.

The story takes place 20 years after the TV series, raising anticipation for how the world has changed.
