This work, a masterpiece manga by Osamu Tezuka, continues to be loved by many as a "pinnacle of medical manga" and celebrates its 50th anniversary of serialization in 2023. The story of the unlicensed genius surgeon Black Jack, who performs any surgery successfully in exchange for exorbitant fees, sensationally returns in the Reiwa era, a time when the role of medical care is again under scrutiny post-COVID-19 pandemic.

In 1981, TV Asahi first adapted "Black Jack" into a TV drama starring Yuzo Kayama. Since then, various live-action and stage versions have been produced, including the 2000 TV drama version starring Masahiro Motoki, aired on TBS. In this new adaptation, Takahashi plays Black Jack, and Yuno Nagao portrays his assistant Pinoko, bringing to life selected famous episodes from the original manga.

The design of the main visual released this time is based on the cover of volume 7 of the Akita Bunko edition of the original work. Under the concept designed by Isao Tsuge, the visual meticulously captures details from Takahashi's portrayal of Black Jack to the font and layout of the text.

Moreover, the PR video released on TV Asahi's official YouTube channel features narration by Akio Otsuka, who voices B.J. in the anime version of "Black Jack." This collaboration is a treat for fans.
