No Announcement for Part 3, Chainsaw Man Manga Ends After 8 Years as Part 2 Concludes

The popular manga Chainsaw Man reached its final chapter in Part 2 on March 25 via the manga app Shonen Jump+. With this, the series has officially concluded, bringing an end to its eight year run. Part 1 was serialized from December 2018 to December 2020, while Part 2 began in July 2022.

No Announcement for Part 3, Final Volume Release Confirmed

Although many fans had been hoping for a continuation in Part 3, the final page of Part 2 included the message: “The End. Thank you for reading! Please look forward to Tatsuki Fujimoto’s next work!!” No sequel was announced. It was also revealed that the final volume, Volume 24, will be released on June 4.

Story Overview of Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man follows Denji, a boy who lives as a Devil Hunter alongside the Chainsaw Devil Pochita. Struggling with overwhelming debt left by his parents, Denji forms a contract with Pochita and is revived as Chainsaw Man, a being with a devil’s heart, becoming a dark hero who hunts devils.

Massive Popularity and Expanding Media Franchise

The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018 and has surpassed 35 million copies in circulation. Known for its shocking twists and sudden revelations, the series ranked No.1 in the male category of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021.

Part 1, titled the Public Safety Arc, concluded in December 2020, and Part 2 began in July 2022 on Shonen Jump+. A TV anime adaptation aired from October to December 2022, and the series has also been adapted into a stage production.

Additionally, the theatrical film Chainsaw Man Reze Arc is currently in theaters and has become a major hit, surpassing 10.7 billion yen at the box office. A sequel anime titled Chainsaw Man Assassin Arc has also been confirmed to be in production.
