The anime adaptation of Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! has officially been set to premiere in October 2026. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual, teaser trailer, and main cast and staff details have been unveiled.

Originally based on the light novel series by Ryuto (published under KADOKAWA BOOKS), the story blends sci-fi adventure with a free-spirited mercenary lifestyle in space.

Story Overview

The series follows Takahiro Sato, an ordinary office worker worn down by a dull and demanding life. One day, he suddenly awakens inside the world of a sci-fi game he had been obsessed with—finding himself in the cockpit of a fully equipped, top-tier starship.

Now living under the name Hiro, he sets out to embrace a new life in this boundless universe.

Whether it's adventuring, trading, rescuing girls, or earning money as a mercenary, Hiro makes full use of his in-game knowledge—even resorting to ruthless tactics at times—to survive and thrive.

However, life in space isn’t perfect. He soon realizes two major problems:

・There’s no carbonated drinks, his favorite
・He has no home to return to

So Hiro sets a bold new goal:

Buy a house with a garden on a planet—even if it costs a fortune.

Thus begins his life as a space mercenary, alongside new companions and powerful gear.
