The series is the latest work by Norio Sakurai and is currently serialized on Champion Cross by Akita Shoten. Its manga has surpassed 7 million copies in circulation. The story is a youthful first love romantic comedy centered on Kyotaro Ichikawa, a gloomy and chuunibyo middle school boy, and Anna Yamada, a cheerful and captivating beauty.
The first season of the TV anime aired in April 2023, followed by the second season in January 2024. Season 2 drew major attention both in Japan and overseas, including winning Best 2D Animation at the 29th Asian Television Awards.
New Illustration Highlights Ichikawa and Yamada
The newly released illustration shows Ichikawa and Yamada leaning close together and forming the number 3 to celebrate Season 3 of the TV anime. Yamada’s bright and innocent smile stands out, while Ichikawa’s shy and slightly awkward expression leaves a strong impression.
A theatrical film is currently in release. It re edits the TV anime series from Ichikawa’s point of view and features events after Season 2 that were not shown on television. These include Kana’s live performance scene and a special moment with Yamada, both depicted in completely new animation.

Everyone, production of Season 3 of The Dangers in My Heart TV anime has officially been decided. This is truly thanks to all of your warm support, as well as the dedication of every cast member and staff member. I am deeply grateful from the bottom of my heart.
I never imagined the series would be made all the way to a third season, so it is now a fond memory that I wrapped up volume 8 of the original manga in such a satisfying way. I am looking forward to seeing the world of these two continue to grow ever more beautifully colored from here on.
