Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly Anime Announces April 5 Premiere With Split Two Cour Release, New PV Reveals Additional Cast

The new television anime Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly from the Pierrot Magical Girl Series will begin broadcasting on April 5 on TOKYO MX and other networks with a split two cour schedule. Along with the announcement, the second main promotional video, the ending theme artist, and additional cast members were also revealed.

New PV Reveals Ending Theme “Calling”

The newly released promotional video features fresh footage including a live performance scene by Lilly, accompanied by the ending theme song revealed for the first time.

The ending theme will be performed by the unit LuluttoLilly, formed by the two main characters Lilly and Lulu. The song title has been confirmed as “Calling.”

Additional Cast Members Announced

New cast members have also been introduced for characters connected to the Nonoyama family and the local neighborhood.

Jun Kasama will voice Keiichi Nonoyama, the father of Fuu and Rui who runs a traditional Japanese sweets shop.

Megumi Ohara will play their mother Shio Nonoyama.

Aya Endo will portray Mari Hinoura, the manager of the café Dabudabu located next to the talent agency Production Once More.

New Entry in the Historic Pierrot Magical Girl Series

Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly is being produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary since the final episode of the first series installment Magical Angel Creamy Mami, which aired from 1983 to 1984.

It will also be the first completely new title in the Pierrot Magical Girl Series in 28 years, following Fancy Lala, which aired in 1998.

Story Overview

The story centers on sisters Fuu Nonoyama and Rui Nonoyama.

Fuu is an innocent elementary school student eagerly awaiting summer vacation, while Rui is a reserved yet hardworking middle school student. The two used to be very close sisters, but lately they feel emotionally distant from one another.

One day, Fuu encounters a mysterious spaceship and receives magical powers. At the same time, Rui also obtains a wonderful magical ability.
Both sisters can transform into the adult versions they have always admired. However, their magic comes with two strict rules.

The first rule is that the magic lasts only one year.

The second rule is that no one must ever discover their magical powers.

Without knowing each other's secret, Fuu and Rui eventually begin working separately as idols, setting the stage for a magical story about dreams, secrets, and sisterhood.
