A comment from the author, Yana Toboso, was posted on X, addressing the fans who support "Black Butler." "Thank you very much. I will be taking a somewhat long maintenance break this time," she reported.

"I debuted in 2004, and 2024 marks 20 years of my career. It is solely thanks to everyone's warm support that I have been able to keep going without any major illnesses or breaks for such a long time," she expressed her gratitude to the readers.

"During this period, I will thoroughly restore my mind and body while proceeding with the necessary research and preparations for the climax of 'Black Butler.' I am very sorry to those who look forward to the monthly serialization. I will return in the best condition, so I would appreciate your patience," she requested understanding.

The editorial team also conveyed, "We will announce the resumption of the serialization in the main issue of 'Monthly G Fantasy' as soon as it is decided. During the hiatus period, past chapters of 'Black Butler' will be reprinted. Thank you for your understanding."

"Black Butler," serialized since 2006, tells the story of Ciel, the 12-year-old head of the prestigious Phantom Hive family, and Sebastian, the perfect super butler. As noblemen of the underworld protecting the order of Britain's criminal society, they receive various assignments from the government.

The series has sold over 35 million copies worldwide, has been adapted into a TV anime, a theatrical anime six times, and a stage play. In 2014, it was also made into a live-action film starring Hiro Mizushima and Ayame Goriki.
