Live Action Drama to Air on NHK in Summer 2026

The manga Zeikin de Katta Hon will be adapted into a live action drama and an anime series. The drama is scheduled to air on NHK General starting in summer 2026. It will broadcast Monday through Thursday from 10:45 PM to 11:00 PM (JST), for a total of 32 episodes. Actor Daiken Okudaira is set to appear in the series.

About Zeikin de Katta Hon

The story follows Ishidaira, a former delinquent who visits a library for the first time since elementary school. There, he is confronted by Hayasemaru and Shirai, who both work at the library. They inform him that he never returned a book he borrowed ten years ago.

What begins as an unexpected reminder soon changes Ishidaira’s life. Instead of simply repaying his overdue debt, he gradually starts visiting the library regularly and eventually even begins working there. The series unfolds as a workplace comedy centered on his experiences at the library.

Currently serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine, the manga explores the surprising world of library work. With its unique premise of a delinquent working part time at a library, the series offers readers an entertaining and insightful look at a place many think they know, yet rarely fully understand.
