Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Skips February 20 Broadcast, Episode 34 Airs February 27

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End will not air on February 20 as part of a scheduled programming adjustment. Episode 34 is set to broadcast on February 27 at 11:00 PM JST.　The change is due to programming arrangements by the Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV. On February 20, coverage of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics will air instead, featuring the 1500 meter speed skating event.

Beginning with Episode 34, the series enters the Divine Revolte Arc. This arc highlights one of the anime’s key appeals, including intense strategic confrontations with demons and dynamic battle sequences. Characters Methode and Genau, who previously appeared in Season 1, will also make their return.

Serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday, Frieren Beyond Journey’s End is a “post-adventure fantasy” that depicts what happens after the hero’s party defeats the Demon King. The story follows Frieren, an elven mage, as she embarks on a new journey with new companions in a world after the hero’s death.

With its unique timeline set after the Demon King’s defeat, the series has captivated readers through its emotionally resonant drama, memorable dialogue, magical and sword-based battles, and moments of gentle humor woven together by its richly developed characters. The manga won the Grand Prize at the Manga Taisho 2021 Awards, and the total circulation of the original comic series has surpassed 32 million copies.

The anime’s first season aired from September 2023 to March 2024, concluding with Frieren, Fern, and Stark continuing their journey toward Aureole, the resting place of souls. Season 2 begins adapting the story from Chapter 61 of Volume 7 of the original manga.
