Dodge Danko Anime by CUE Unveils Teaser Visual and Cast: Manaka Nakayama Leads as Danko, Noriko Hidaka Returns as Danpei
Dodge Danko anime has revealed its teaser visual and main cast, confirming that CUE will handle the animation production. The TV anime Honoo no Tokyujo Dodge Danko also announced that Noriko Hidaka, who voiced Danpei in the original series Honoo no Tokyuji Dodge Danpei, will return for the new project.

The teaser visual features the five members of the Tamagawa Dodgeball Club bursting forward with unstoppable momentum. The tagline reads, “Strike the blow against a boring world!” capturing the fiery spirit of Danko and her teammates as they push beyond their limits.

The five central members of the Tamagawa Dodgeball Club have been announced.
Danko Ichigeki, the daughter of Danpei Ichigeki, will be voiced by Manaka Nakayama in her first leading role. Chinko Kobotoke, the daughter of Chinnen Kobotoke, will be voiced by Kaori Maeda. Mochiko Etai will be played by Akira Sekine. Susan Cannon will be voiced by Yo Taichi. Hanii Otohana will be portrayed by Yu Sasahara.
In addition, Noriko Hidaka, who originally voiced Danpei Ichigeki in Honoo no Tokyuji Dodge Danpei, will participate in the new anime as the narrator and will also voice the young Danpei. To commemorate the announcement, a special Ichigeki talk session between Nakayama and Hidaka has been released.
The director is Hiroshi Ikehata, known for Fly Me to the Moon and Witch Watch. Series composition is handled by Kazuho Hyodo, who also worked on Fly Me to the Moon and Witch Watch. Character design and chief animation direction are by Narihito Sekikawa, recognized for his work on Tsuma Sho.
A Legitimate Sequel to a 1990s Classic
Honoo no Tokyujo Dodge Danko is the official sequel to the hugely popular 1990s series Honoo no Tokyuji Dodge Danpei. The manga has been serialized in Weekly CoroCoro Comic since 2022.
The story follows Danko, the daughter of Danpei, as she strives to revive the now disbanded dodgeball club. Alongside her childhood friend Chinko, she gathers new teammates and throws herself into intense matches in this passionate sports series.
The original creator, Tetsuhiro Koshita, previously sparked social phenomena with his works, including a dodgeball boom with Dodge Danpei and a Mini 4WD boom with Bakusou Kyodai Lets and Go. Since Dodge Danko began serialization in 2022, it has generated major buzz on social media. The promotional video for episode one surpassed 700000 views, and the series frequently trends on X on update days, establishing itself as one of the most talked about web manga titles.

Manaka Nakayama, voice of Danko Ichigeki, expressed her excitement about leading the series. She described the anime as a blazing hot blooded show for the Reiwa era and highlighted the intense match scenes where the characters clash with all their spirit.
