"Fatal" is a song by the artist GEMN (pronounced "Gem"), who is in charge of the OP theme song for the second season of the TV anime Oshi no Ko. On GEMN's official website, liner notes, which appear to be written by the participating members, are being released for two consecutive weeks. There is a lot of speculation on social media about who wrote them.

The released lyrics seem to be limited to the portion that will be aired in the opening. The lyrics feature many words pronounced as "Ai" and are filled with rhymes pronounced as "a-i" in Japanese vowels. The content consistently evokes Hoshino Ai, the center of B-Komachi and the mother of Aqua and Ruby. This point is similar to the theme song of the first season of Oshi no Ko, YOASOBI's "Idol".

Additionally, the lyrics conclude with the phrase "beloved fatal." It is speculated that the lyrics are from Aqua's perspective, who is consumed by revenge for Ai's murder.

While there hasn't been an official announcement, it is believed that the unit name "GEMN" is derived from "GEMINI," which represents the zodiac sign Gemini, by removing the "I" from "GEMINI," symbolizing Ai Hoshino. It's fascinating to see how not just the lyrics but also the unit name "Fatal," the theme song for this time, reflects the broken bond of the twins due to Ai's absence.
