"Oshi no Ko" is based on the manga of the same name, which began serialization in Shueisha's "Weekly Young Jump" in April 2020. The story revolves around Gorou, an obstetrician-gynecologist who meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. After dying in an incident, Gorou is reincarnated as Ai's child.

This event sets Gorou on a path into the entertainment industry, just like Ai. The story features not only idols and actors but also behind-the-scenes characters such as directors and producers, providing a realistic depiction of the entertainment world that has gained popularity.

The manga is written by Aka Akasaka, known for the popular series "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War," and won first place in the Comics Division of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The comic has sold over 3 million copies in total.
