Ace of Diamond act II Second Season Reveals New Cast for Norikane Academy High School Ahead of April 2026 Premiere

Ace of Diamond act II Second Season has announced additional cast members for the upcoming sequel, which is set to begin airing in April 2026 on TV Tokyo and affiliated networks. This marks the series’ return after a six year hiatus, following the final episode of the first season that aired in March 2020.

New Characters from Norikane and Sousei High Schools Join the Series

Three new cast members have been revealed, introducing key players from rival high school baseball teams.

Koya Urabe, voiced by Shugo Nakamura, is a third year pitcher for Norikane Academy High School baseball club. Urabe initially enrolled at East High School but left the baseball team after only two weeks. He later transferred to Norikane during his second year. His first official appearance on the mound comes during the match against Seido High School.

Soichi Yagira, voiced by Atsushi Tamaru, is a third year pitcher and the ace of Sousei High School baseball club. Known for his sharp fastball and a signature breaking pitch referred to as the Sousei two seam, Yagira is a dual threat who also boasts a batting average exceeding .400, making him a central figure both offensively and defensively.

Koji Nara, voiced by Kento Hama, is also a third year student at Sousei High School and plays second base. Selected for the Tokyo regional all star team, Nara is a powerful cleanup hitter with strong running, batting, and fielding skills. Despite being a right handed batter, he is capable of hitting long balls to right field, marking him as a formidable presence in the lineup.

About Ace of Diamond

Ace of Diamond is a long running baseball manga that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2006. The story follows Eijun Sawamura, who enrolls at an elite baseball school and strives toward Koshien alongside his teammates. The second part of the manga, Ace of Diamond act II, began in 2015 and depicted Sawamura’s journey as a second year student making his Koshien debut, as well as the new challenges faced by Seido High School’s baseball club. The manga concluded in October 2022, bringing the 16 year long series to an end.

The anime adaptation began airing in 2013, with the first season of Ace of Diamond act II broadcast from 2019 to 2020. The franchise has also been adapted into stage plays and has gained widespread popularity, including among professional baseball players. Shohei Ohtani and Kodai Senga are among those who have cited the manga as a favorite during their student years, highlighting its significant influence on the baseball world.
