New Gintama Anime Film Unveils Intense Battle PV Featuring Shinpachi and Kagura vs Abuto

A brand new battle promotional video has been released for the completely new animated film Shin Gekijoban Gintama Yoshihara Dai Enjo, set to premiere on February 13. The newly unveiled footage strongly hints at an intense series of battles, raising anticipation among fans. It was also announced that a post release stage greeting featuring members of the Gintama cast will be held.

The battle PV focuses on the Shinpachi and Kagura vs Abuto arc, depicting a breathtaking confrontation between members of the Yato, a powerful warrior race. Abuto serves as the vice commander of the Seventh Division of the space pirate group Harusame and stands as a formidable opponent. Shinpachi and Kagura join forces to face him head on, resulting in a succession of powerful combat scenes where each fighter’s resolve collides with full force.

Despite being overwhelmed by a vastly superior enemy, Shinpachi is emotionally portrayed shouting, “I will protect Kagura!” adding a strong emotional core to the action. In the final moments of the video, Kagura is shown awakening and unleashing power beyond her limits, driven by her feelings for her comrades. The PV closes by strongly foreshadowing even more intense battles to come.

About Gintama and the Yoshiwara in Flames Arc

Gintama is based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2003. Set in an alternate Edo period ruled by extraterrestrial beings known as Amanto, the story follows freelancer Gintoki Sakata and the people around him in a science fiction historical comedy.

The story of Gintama The Movie Yoshiwara in Flames takes place in the underground pleasure city of Yoshiwara, a lightless domain ruled by the Night King Hosen. Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura of the Yorozuya step into this forbidden city, bringing to life one of the most intense and celebrated arcs from the original manga as a fully new animated theatrical feature.
