About Sgt. Frog
Sgt. Frog is based on the manga by Mine Yoshizaki, serialized in Monthly Shonen Ace. The comedy series follows frog like alien invaders who come to Earth and cause constant chaos. The TV anime aired for seven years beginning in 2004, alongside five theatrical films and a wide range of media expansions. The franchise marked the 25th anniversary of the manga and the 20th anniversary of the TV anime in 2024.
The new theatrical film is produced as part of the anime’s 20th anniversary project. It is directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki, with character designs by Satoshi Koike, and animation production handled by BN Pictures. Veteran staff members who have supported Sgt. Frog over the years reunite for the project. The cast continues from previous works, including the voice actor for Keroro, and the script and chief direction are handled by Yuichi Fukuda, known for the Yusha Yoshihiko drama series and the Gintama live action films.
