A 10th Anniversary Project Bringing “More” to Animation

It has been announced that a new My Hero Academia anime project is officially in production and will air on May 2, 2026, on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV nationwide at 5:30 p.m. The episode adapts No. 431, titled “More,” a special story drawn by Kohei Horikoshi that was not published during the manga’s original Weekly Shonen Jump serialization. The episode was later included in the final Volume 42 of the manga.

The announcement was made during a stage event at Jump Festa held on December 20. As My Hero Academia celebrates the 10th anniversary of its anime adaptation in 2026, the project is positioned as one of the commemorative highlights.

The story “More” is set eight years after Class 1 A’s graduation from U.A. High School, depicting Izuku Midoriya and his classmates as professional heroes and portraying what lies beyond the series’ original manga and anime finale. When Volume 42 was released, the episode sparked a massive global response, and following the broadcast of the anime’s final episode, fans around the world voiced strong hopes for its animation. As part of the anniversary initiative, the episode will air during Japan’s Golden Week as anime episode No. 170 plus one, titled “More.”
