The Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Confirmed for 2026 Broadcast with New PV After a Nine Year Hiatus

The second season of The Saga of Tanya the Evil has been confirmed for a 2026 broadcast, marking the first new television anime installment in nine years since Season 1 aired in 2017. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new teaser visual and promotional video.

Director Takayuki Yamamoto, newly appointed for Season 2, commented that he is deeply honored to be involved in the project. He added that the team is vigorously pushing ahead with production and asked fans for their continued patience.

The teaser visual features Tanya von Degurechaff playing a burning piano, a striking image that hints at the intense developments expected in Season 2. The teaser PV begins with what appears to be propaganda celebrating the Empire’s victory, only to shift into a recollection triggered by Being X, the mysterious entity that obstructed Tanya’s path in Season 1. The footage then shows Tanya fiercely resisting that force as she continues to fight on the battlefield.

Based on the novel by Carlo Zen, The Saga of Tanya the Evil follows Tanya von Degurechaff, who is reincarnated into another world while retaining memories of her previous life. Armed with extreme realism and cold rationality, she navigates the brutal realities of war.

The television anime first aired from January to March 2017, with Aoi Yuki voicing Tanya and Saori Hayami voicing her subordinate Visha. A feature film adaptation was released in 2019.
