“NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE” TV Anime Premieres in April 2026 by Yostar Pictures, with Theatrical Preview Edition Announced
The hit indie game “NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE” (known in Japan as Nidiga), which has surpassed 3 million units sold, will be adapted into a TV anime premiering in April 2026. In addition, a special theatrical preview edition will screen at Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo and Theatre Umeda in Osaka. The anime will be produced by Yostar Pictures, the studio behind Arknights, Blue Archive, and the original NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE short anime.

playground, the game depicts 30 turbulent days in the life of Ame, a mentally fragile girl who dreams of becoming the world’s greatest streamer, and P-chan, the player who manages her daily life. With multiple endings and deep psychological storytelling, the title became an iconic representation of internet culture, boasting over 400 million music stream plays globally.

The first key visual features Ame’s streaming persona OMGkawaiiAngel (KAngel) standing confidently on stage with the tagline “Look at me.” A teaser PV and full staff list have also been released.

The anime will be directed by Masaoki Nakashima of Yostar Pictures, known for storyboarding and directing episodes of Blue Archive and New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT, as well as the NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE short anime. The series promises an original narrative unique to the anime format, with fresh takes on its characters and themes.
The theatrical preview version will be a specially edited compilation of the TV anime episodes, presented exclusively in cinemas ahead of the broadcast.
