The mystery novel Killed Again, Mr. Detective will receive a television anime adaptation, scheduled to air on TBS in April 2026. In the newly released teaser PV, it was announced that the animation will be produced by LIDENFILMS, with Rikuya Yasuda voicing Sakuya Outsuki and Shion Wakayama playing Lilithea.

The story follows Sakuya Outsuki, a high school detective with the extraordinary ability to revive even after being killed. Using this unusual trait, he throws himself into a series of challenging and often perilous cases. The protagonist, son of a legendary detective, is repeatedly killed during investigations yet continues to rise again, determined to uncover the truth behind each mystery.

The series is directed by Takashi Naya, known for Tales of Wedding Rings, Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won't Lose, and Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru The Movie Snow Chapter. Series composition is handled by Mio Inoue, character design by Akiko Kumada, art direction by Kuniaki Nemoto, and cinematography by Mitsuyoshi Yamamoto.

In the teaser footage, Sakuya is shockingly murdered in the opening moments while pursuing a case. Reflecting on his unusual condition, he notes that “the blueprint of my body must have been drawn by God while half-asleep during an all-nighter” and “I saw the one who killed me.” Each time he revives, Lilithea gently welcomes him with a lap pillow and says, “You had fallen into eternal rest. Welcome back. You have been killed again, Mr. Detective.”

Serving as both detective and victim, Sakuya faces every case with his life on the line.
