The new three-episode My Happy Marriage Special Arc has been confirmed for television broadcast and global streaming on Netflix in 2026. A newly released key visual depicts Miyo Saimori in a white wedding kimono beneath full-bloomed cherry blossoms, while Kiyoka Kudo gently offers her an umbrella, capturing a moment enveloped in pure happiness.

Staff and cast details were also unveiled. Following his work on Seasons One and Two, Takehiro Kubota will return to direct the Special Arc. Reina Ueda reprises her role as Miyo Saimori, and Kaito Ishikawa once again voices Kiyoka Kudou. Both actors shared comments celebrating the announcement.

The story is based on the popular My Happy Marriage light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi with illustrations by Tsukiho Tsukioka, published under Fujimi L Bunko. Set in a fictional world reminiscent of the Meiji and Taisho eras, the tale follows elite military officer Kiyoka Kudou, who has closed off his heart, and Miyo Saimori, a girl raised under abuse by her family. Their political marriage develops into an unconventional yet deeply emotional love story.

The franchise has surpassed nine million copies in print. A manga adaptation by Rito Kohsaka launched in 2019 and has since won numerous awards, including first place in the 2021 “Recommended Comics Selected by Nationwide Bookstore Staff” and recognition from digital manga awards. The property expanded further with a 2023 live-action film starring Ren Meguro (Snow Man) and Mio Imada, followed by an original stage play in August, the first TV anime in July, and a second anime season broadcast in 2025.
