Kis-My-Ft2’s Toshiya Miyata’s Debut Novel “Kyokai no Melody” Receives TV Anime Adaptation with Kento Ito and Snow Man’s Daisuke Sakuma Returning
The TV anime adaptation of Kyokai no Melody (JP: 境界のメロディ, Boundary Melody,) the debut novel by Toshiya Miyata of Kis-My-Ft2, has been officially announced. Continuing from the special-edition drama CD, the anime will feature Kento Ito, Daisuke Sakuma of Snow Man, and additional returning cast members.

TV Anime Adaptation of Kyokai no Melody Announced
Released on May 24, 2024 under the Dengeki Bunko label from KADOKAWA, the novel centers on the theme of music and follows two boys as they experience youth, growth, and the brilliance of life. Its emotionally resonant storytelling, Miyata’s vivid musical descriptions, and its brisk, engaging narrative structure attracted significant acclaim. The work won four major awards, including first place in the Bunko category of the Next Light Novel Awards 2024. The sequel, Boundary Melody 2, will be published on the twenty fifth.

Returning voice cast includes Kento Ito as Kyosuke Tsurumaki and Daisuke Sakuma as Kai Amano, along with Yuma Uchida as Takeshi, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Makoto, and Soma Saito as Minoru.

Regarding the anime adaptation, Miyata expressed both joy and a sense of responsibility, noting that his love for anime makes him determined not to let the project become anything less than exceptional. He added that he hopes fans will support this dream come true, created by someone who grew up loving anime.
