An Introduction to Berserk: Kentaro Miura’s Masterpiece That Shaped Dark Fantasy Across Media

6. Author’s Message

“Each time I read Miura’s magnum opus, I feel the same excitement that I had when I read the first volume. Berserk is rich, relatable, emotional, and gorgeous. I just can’t get enough of it. I’ve learned so much about life’s challenges just by following Guts’s story. Berserk is mythical yet so real that it sends shivers down my spine with every panel I read. It truly transcends the manga medium and has become an epic literary visual poem that takes you through a lifelong story of some of the best fictional characters we know. I see Berserk’s traces, influences, and imagery in many artworks, games, manga, and virtually every form of modern media. I want to show my sincere gratitude to the late Kentaro Miura for creating this absolute masterpiece for us to enjoy. I would also like to show my respect to Studio Gaga and Kouji Mori for keeping Miura’s legacy alive.”

Thank you for reading this article.
