Shintaro Asanuma as Sogoru Kyo
Q1: It's been about 8 years since the last "Zegapain ADP" (October 2016). How did you feel returning to your character in "Zegapain"?
A1: It's not an exaggeration to say that this work and character have significantly changed my life. It felt like reuniting with an old friend you can always talk to, so it didn't feel like a long time had passed. I felt like I was greeting Kyo with, "Hey, how have you been? You haven't tanned as much as I thought."
Q2: What did you focus on for the dubbing of "Zegapain STA"?
A2: As with the previous work, I was constantly battling between "high purity" and "experience," "recklessness" and "precision." The desperate acting I did 18 years ago, without understanding anything, is something I can no longer do, and the skills I've developed over these years were unattainable back then. The me who longed for an unseen future back then, and the me who now tries to capture the past while somewhat resigned. It feels very "Zegapain" to me.
Q3: What are you looking forward to in this work, and do you have a message for the viewers?
A3: First and foremost, to the Celebrants who have loved "Zegapain" for so long, thank you. Thanks to you, the story's clock has started ticking again. To those who have discovered "Zegapain" now, thank you for finding and engaging with it. This work made me appreciate summer a bit more, and participating in stories about time loops and time leaps, as well as playing bird-related characters, made me feel like something beyond coincidence is at play. I hope this film moves a part of your heart in some way. Enjoy it at your own pace.
Kana Hanazawa as Ryoko Kaminagi
Q1: How did you feel about recording new lines for "Zegapain" again?
A1: I was so happy to have this opportunity. I cherished the moments recording with Asanuma-san and Kawasumi-san as Ryoko. Meeting Ryoko again, she was still the same simple, straightforward, and lovely girl.
Q2: How did you approach the recording, given it’s been 18 years since the TV broadcast?
A2: If this was my first recording in 18 years, I might have been overwhelmed, but having done the recording 8 years ago, I approached it calmly.
Q3: What are you looking forward to in this work, and do you have a message for the viewers?
A3: From the spin-off novels to recent re-airings and now a new work, being part of a long-loved series makes me feel lucky. I hope new Celebrants join us through "Zegapain STA," and that those who already know it can deepen their appreciation. Please look forward to it!
Ayako Kawasumi as Misaki Shizuno
Q1: How did you feel about returning to your role after so much time?
A1: I was worried about differences in my acting from the past and regaining the feeling, but it was not an issue at all. The other cast members remained true to their characters, which helped a lot.
Q2: What did you focus on for this recording?
A2: More than during the TV broadcast or the last movie, I felt less pressure to match the original. The new characters made it feel like "Zegapain" was showing a new side.
Q3: What are you looking forward to in this work, and do you have a message for the viewers?
A3: I've always loved the music of "Zegapain," and this time reaffirmed that the songs are essential to it. Long-time fans will feel nostalgia alongside the new elements. Please look forward to it.
