TV Anime Dusk Beyond the End of the World Premieres September 26 with Episode 0, A New Journey Begins from Cold Sleep
The TV anime Dusk Beyond the End of the World (JP: 永久のユウグレ) will premiere nationwide on September 26, 2025 (Friday), airing every Thursday at 24:26 in the “Super Animeism TURBO” block across 28 MBS/TBS stations. Set in a future world where AI technology has advanced dramatically, the series tells a profound love story of two people who long to reunite across time and embark on a journey together.

The protagonist is Akira Himegami, who once pledged eternal love with her dearest partner Towasa Omaki. After awakening from a long cold sleep, Akira finds herself in a devastated world where war has erased nations. Humanity is now controlled by a unifying organization called OWEL, and a new system known as “Elsie” has replaced marriage as the societal norm. Suddenly, an android identical to Towasa named Yugure appears before Akira and proposes marriage. Though bewildered, Akira sets out on a journey with Yugure while holding onto her belief that Towasa is still alive somewhere.

The premiere Episode 0 will depict the relationship between Akira and Towasa 200 years in the past. Alongside this announcement, a striking key visual featuring Akira, Yugure, and the new character Amor gazing toward the sunset sky has been revealed, as well as the first promotional video (PV).

In the newly released PV, viewers see Akira awakening from cold sleep only to be pressed into marriage by Yugure. The trailer also teases their travels through the future world, their encounter with Amoru, a girl searching for a forbidden picture book, and their struggles against OWEL. All of this is set to the opening theme “Platform” performed by Uru, whose powerful vocals underscore the emotional core of the series.

Towasa Omaki
Amoru, the newly introduced character voiced by Miyu Tomita, is a young girl pure and straightforward in nature. She shared, “Amor is adorable and true to her age, but also deeply tied to the theme of love. Playing her made me reflect a lot on what love really means. I believe every episode will surprise viewers, so I hope everyone stays with us until the very end.”
