Rikako Aida Diagnosed with Pneumonia, Suspends Appearances on Scheduled Programs [Full Statement]

Voice actress Rikako Aida, best known for her role as Riko Sakurauchi in Love Live! Sunshine!!, has been diagnosed with pneumonia. Her agency, Ken Production, announced on August 18 via its official X account that Aida has been instructed by her doctor to rest at home for one week.

The announcement stated:

“Our talent Rikako Aida has been diagnosed with pneumonia, and her doctor has instructed her to take one week of rest at home. Accordingly, we regret to inform you that she will be suspending the following scheduled program appearances.”

Aida made her voice acting debut as Riko Sakurauchi in Love Live! Sunshine!!, a role that quickly brought her widespread popularity. She also voiced Fuuka Miyazawa in The Aquatope on White Sand, further expanding her recognition. Beyond anime, Aida has worked on film dubbing projects and continues to broaden her career as a voice actress. In March of last year, she released her second photo book, Hibi (日々).
