The official X account for the anime Demon Slayer has been updated, posting a photo of the bamboo decorations from the Sendai Tanabata Festival.
The post stated, “The bamboo decorations for the Sendai Tanabata Festival have been set up. If you're attending, be sure to check them out,” and went on to share the location where they were installed.

Demon Slayer is based on the immensely popular manga that ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. Set in the Taisho era, where man-eating demons roam the land, it follows the story of a boy named Tanjiro Kamado, whose family is slaughtered by demons. To turn his demonized sister Nezuko back into a human and avenge his family, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps.
The manga has surpassed a total of 220 million copies in circulation worldwide.

From April to September 2019, the TV anime Demon Slayer – Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc aired and quickly became a sensation. This was followed by the release of the film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train in October 2020, which became a social phenomenon, earning approximately 51.7 billion yen in box office revenue worldwide.

Since then, Demon Slayer has been adapted into video games and stage productions. The anime continued with the Entertainment District Arc airing in December 2021, the Swordsmith Village Arc in April 2023, and the Hashira Training Arc airing from May to June 2024.
Now, the story continues with a trilogy of films under the title Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc. The first installment, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle - Part 1: Akaza Returns, features Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps engaging in the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and the Upper Rank demons, set within the demons’ stronghold, the Infinity Castle.
The film is currently showing in 452 theaters across Japan (393 standard theaters + 59 IMAX theaters).
