The completely new anime Fist of the North Star -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- is set to air and stream in 2026, marking the franchise's first new anime project in 18 years. This follows Fist of the North Star: Legend of the True Savior: Part 5 - ZERO: Kenshiro's Chapter, which premiered in 2008. Featuring a brand-new staff and cast, the anime aims to faithfully adapt the original manga with the latest in animation technology. A teaser PV and the main voice cast were revealed on July 6.

Shunsuke Takeuchi will voice Kenshiro, Daiki Yamashita will play Bat, and M・A・O will portray Lin.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988, Fist of the North Star is set in a post-apocalyptic world where civilization has collapsed due to a final war, and violence reigns. The story follows Kenshiro, the successor of the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken, as he grows into a savior burdened with love and sorrow.

The manga continues to be beloved by fans around the world, with over 100 million copies sold globally. It has been adapted into a TV anime (1984–87, 1987–88), multiple animated films (1986, 2006, 2007, 2008), and even a stage musical (2021). The franchise celebrated its 40th anniversary on September 13, 2023.
