Episode 22 of You and Idol Pretty Cure (Kimi to Idol Prett Cure, キミとアイドルプリキュア♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure anime series, has released its story preview and early scene stills. Episode 22 will air on Sunday, July 6, at 8:30 AM on Japanese TV, followed by international streaming on various platforms.

Episode 22 Story

Although Meroron (voiced by Miharu Hanai) declared herself a rival, Purirun (voiced by Yoshino Nanjo) casually stops by Café Glitter as usual. There, Tanaka shows up with a new assignment in hand.

The job? A promotional campaign for Pretty Holic titled “Idol Pretty Cure vs. Zukyoon & Kiss: Rival Showdown!” Fans are asked to vote on which cosmetics they prefer—those representing the “cute and bubbly Idol Pretty Cure team” or the “cool and mature Zukyoon & Kiss team.”

A few days later, Uta (voiced by Misato Matsuoka) and the others visit Pretty Holic, only to find the store buzzing with visitors and divided into two themed sections: Team Idol Pretty Cure and Team Zukyoon & Kiss. Yet even upon hearing this, Purirun happily munches on dango, unfazed.

Determined to grab Purirun’s attention, Meroron challenges Uta and the others to a cooking battle!

About You and Idol Pretty Cure

The theme of You and Idol Pretty Cure revolves around idols. With the belief that "Because you're here, I can shine and become stronger!", the Pretty Cure idols sing, dance, and engage with fans, using their performances to restore Kirakira to those who have lost it.

The story follows Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. One day, she meets Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Pretty Cure, the legendary savior of Kirakiland. Kirakiland has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, the leader of the Chokkiri Gang.

As the Chokkiri Gang begins stealing the Kirakira from townspeople, a desperate Uta declares, "I want to bring back the Kirakkiranran feeling! With my song!" Her determination resonates, and she transforms into the legendary Cure Idol.
