Three new stills have been released from the upcoming movie You and Idol Pretty Cure! The Movie: Thanks for Waiting! A Sparkling Live Just for You!—hitting Japanese theaters on September 12.

The story takes place on a mysterious island surrounded by the sea called Aiai Island. Uta and the others are invited by Totto, a coral fairy, to perform at the “Super Miracle Idol Festival,” held once every 10 years and dubbed the biggest idol event in the universe.

The first still shows Uta and the team being drawn into Aiai Island, each of them wearing the Miracle Aiai Brace—the key item of the film.

The second still depicts the Idol Pretty Cures exploring the bustling festival grounds with great excitement. Street stalls selling B-grade gourmet food and fan merchandise line the area, filled with lively crowds. Totto, the festival’s executive committee chair and a movie-original character, can be seen in the background. The massive venue welcomes not just the girls, but idols of all kinds—including robots and animals—ready to kick off a sparkling and dazzling idol fest! However, just as the show is about to begin, a mysterious monster suddenly appears, throwing both Aiai Island and the world into chaos. Caught in the disaster, Uta and the others are mysteriously transported into the island’s past.

Why were they sent to the past? What secret lies hidden in the Aiai Island of old? In this time-shifted crisis, they’re aided by Tera, a red-haired girl with a kind heart despite her awkwardness. Uta tries to repay her kindness with a song—but it turns out Tera hates idols!?

The third still captures Uta singing and dancing under a star-filled sky so breathtaking that even idol-hating Tera can’t help but be mesmerized. It’s a magical moment hinting at the two growing closer.
