Kyoto Animation has unveiled the story and preview stills for Episode 1 of its TV anime, CITY THE ANIMATION. The episode will air in Japan on Monday, July 7 at 12:00 a.m. JST on TOKYO MX and other networks, with a global release to follow.

Tsurubishi Makabe dives a plate of crispy yakisoba into a customer's bag, with Midori Nagumo witnessing the scene. A desperate situation unfolds!

Matsuri Makabe and Eri Amakazari enjoy their after-school adventures, launching into yet another big day.

Meanwhile, Todoroki and Onikamaboko struggle to come up with a new idea for their 'Disappointment Boy' gag—stuck thoughts, unstoppable tears.

After hearing about Niikura’s dreams, Midori begins to contemplate what she really wants to do...

About CITY THE ANIMATION

CITY THE ANIMATION is based on the manga CITY, a "girls-run" comedy by Keiichi Arawi, serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine from 2016 to 2021. The story depicts the lives of slightly unusual people living in an otherwise ordinary "CITY", focusing on a variety of characters, including penniless college student Midori Nagumo, as well as Niikura and Wako.
