Kamen Rider Kuuga 25th Anniversary Exhibition “Super Kuuga Exhibition” Opens in Tokyo with Rare Displays Including La·Balva·De’s New Monster Form

The “Super Kuuga Exhibition (JP: 超クウガ展, chou kuuga ten)” exhibition commemorating the 25th anniversary of Kamen Rider Kuuga, which first aired in 2000, has officially opened at Tokyo Dome City’s Gallery AaMo (June 14 – July 6). A press preview was held on June 13, ahead of the public opening.

Kamen Rider Kuuga shocked audiences across Japan when it first aired in 2000, and now, 25 years later, it is being celebrated with a comprehensive exhibition. The event showcases precious behind-the-scenes materials revealing how the groundbreaking series was brought to life. From the iconic Growing Form to the Ultimate Form, Kuuga’s many incarnations are on display, alongside recreated scenes that will stir nostalgia in longtime fans. Among the highlights is a newly created figure of the monster form of La·Balva·De, known as “the woman with the rose tattoo,” as well as full-body figures of the Gurongi Tribe. The climactic fistfight between Kuuga’s Ultimate Form and N·Daguva·Zeba has also been faithfully recreated.

Fans can also step into a fully reconstructed “Café Pole Pole,” the café where Yusuke Godai lived and worked. This set, a central location in the series, has been restored after the original blueprints were miraculously rediscovered during the exhibition planning process, nearly 25 years after the show’s original broadcast.

On weekends through July 6, a special photo area will be open, allowing fans to pose for commemorative photos with the “Kamen Rider Kuuga Mighty Form” suit, the “BeatChaser 2000” motorcycle, and the “Ichijo Car”—the unmarked police vehicle used by detective Kaoru Ichijo, who fought alongside Kuuga.

First aired on January 30, 2000, at 8:00 AM, Kamen Rider Kuuga was the first entry in the Heisei era of the Kamen Rider series. As the series continues into the Reiwa era, Kuuga remains a beloved milestone for many fans. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the exhibition will tour four major cities: starting in Tokyo (June 2025), then moving to Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Osaka. An overseas exhibition in Asia is also planned for 2026.

In a special feature for the exhibition, Joe Odagiri—who portrayed Yusuke Godai / Kamen Rider Kuuga—serves as the official navigator and provides an audio guide. The script, newly written by Toshiki Inoue, the original head writer for the series, allows Odagiri to reflect on the series with a perspective shaped by 25 years of time. The guide is available to all attendees through their smartphones or tablets.
