The new series of the anime "Atashin'chi" will start streaming on YouTube from 6:30 PM on June 5th, as announced.
The official X account stated, "The new series of 'Atashin'chi' has a confirmed YouTube streaming schedule! For five consecutive months, a new episode will be released on the 5th of each month. Episode 1, 'Yuzupi's Mechanical Pencil,' will be available from 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 5th."
Since its launch in May 2020, the official "Atashin'chi" YouTube channel has been streaming the main anime episodes previously aired on TV as well as exclusive special videos. The channel has grown to be loved by a wide audience, and on January 2, 2024, it surpassed 1 million subscribers.
The series is based on a manga that first appeared in the Sunday edition of Yomiuri Shimbun in 1994. It gained popularity by humorously depicting the daily ups and downs of the Tachibana family, centered around high school student "Atashi" (Mikan), the main character.
In 1996, it won the Bungeishunju Manga Award, and it was later adapted into a TV anime and an animated movie. The manga was serialized in Yomiuri Shimbun for 17 years and 10 months, ending on March 11, 2012. The serialization resumed in December 2019.
