The second season of the TV anime Call of the Night is set to premiere on July 4 in Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” programming block. Alongside this announcement, a new visual for the “Cigarette Case Arc” has been unveiled, and it has been confirmed that Maaya Uchida will voice the character Haru Nanakusa.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday since August 2019, Call of the Night is based on the manga of the same name. The story follows Ko Yamori, a second-year middle schooler who struggles with interacting with girls, and his mysterious encounter with a beautiful vampire named Nazuna Nanakusa. The series portrays their unique romantic journey through the nighttime cityscape. The anime was first adapted for television in 2022, and the manga concluded in January 2024.

The newly revealed visual for the Cigarette Case Arc features four prominent female characters who will play major roles in Season 2. The imagery of cracked glass surrounding cigarettes and a lighter symbolically hints at the fate awaiting these characters.

Maaya Uchida Cast as Haru Nanakusa

Maaya Uchida has been announced as the voice actress for Haru Nanakusa, a new character appearing in the second season. Sharing her thoughts on the role, Uchida commented:

“She’s so cool and charming—I found myself completely captivated. I’ll do my best to bring out her full appeal.”
