Gokurakugai Manga Surpasses 1.2 Million Copies with Shibuya Station Ad Campaign for Volume 5 Release
Gokurakugai, the manga series by Yuto Sano, has surpassed 1.2 million copies in circulation with the release of Volume 5 on May 2. To commemorate this milestone, a striking large-scale advertisement has been launched at Tokyu Shibuya Station starting May 5.
Serialized in Jump SQ. since its August 2022 issue, Gokurakugai quickly garnered attention for its exceptional artwork and gripping narrative. It ranked 9th in the "Next Manga Awards 2023" (Comic Division), 5th in the "Nationwide Bookstore Staff Recommended Comics 2024," and 7th in the "Manga Most Wanted for Anime Adaptation 2025," positioning it as a highly anticipated breakout hit.
The ad campaign at Shibuya Station features a visually powerful 22-meter-wide board showcasing characters and lines from the series. The concept highlights the conflict between 'Saragi' and 'Maga', the two worlds surrounding the protagonist Alma, who possesses the blood of both humans and 'Maga'.
