Kagurabachi Surpasses 2.2 Million Copies! Jump's Hit Manga Grows Sixfold in Just One Year with 56 Special Posters in Shibuya
The popular manga Kagurabachi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and created by Takeru Hokazono, has officially surpassed a cumulative total of 2.2 million copies (including digital editions) as of the release of its latest Volume 7 on May 2, Shueisha announced on April 28. In July 2024, the series had approximately 350,000 copies in circulation, meaning it has grown by 1.85 million copies—a 6.28-fold increase—in just about a year.
56 Special Posters to Decorate the Streets of Shibuya
To commemorate the release of the new volume, a set of 56 special posters—each featuring a unique visual representing the 56 chapters from Volumes 1 through 6—has been produced. Starting from 1:00 PM on April 28, these posters will be displayed throughout Shibuya for a limited time.
Kagurabachi POP UP SHOP Events Announced
Additionally, POP UP SHOP events are scheduled to be held at three locations:
Shibuya Modi (from June 20)
Kobe Marui (from July 18)
Hakata Marui (from August 8)
These events will feature merchandise using newly drawn illustrations by Takeru Hokazono.

Kagurabachi follows Chihiro, a young boy training to become a master swordsmith under his father. Living each day filled with laughter, his world is suddenly shattered by a tragic event. Driven by grief and fueled by hatred, Chihiro takes up his blade to seek revenge against those responsible.
The manga, a Japanese sword battle action series, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023 and is Hokazono’s debut serialized work.
The series has rapidly risen in prominence, winning 1st place in the Comics Division of the Next Manga Awards 2024 in August. The situation turns dramatically when the cursed blade “Tobi-mune” is transported to Samura, leading to the successful defeat of the attackers.
As bodies pile up, the black swordsman must make a crucial choice. Meanwhile, Hiruhiko, locked in fierce combat with Chihiro, is delivered the cursed blade “Kume-yuri.” Amidst a sea of blood and despair, each fighter advances for the sake of their own convictions.
