Boonboomger vs King-Ohger Movie Premiere: Cast Reunites in Costume for V-Cinema Crossover Event

The cast and director of Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger vs Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger gathered for the film’s premiere event held in Tokyo on April 16, ahead of its limited theatrical release on May 1 and Blu-ray/DVD release on October 29. Marking the 31st entry in the Super Sentai VS series, this V-Cinema project brings together two generations of heroes in a special anniversary crossover.

Appearing in their full character costumes, the cast members surprised and delighted the audience with an energetic stage greeting. Taisei Sakai, who reprises his role as Gira Hastie / Kuwagata Ohger, expressed his excitement:

“It was great to reunite with the King-Ohger team. The energy here today reminded me of the heat and passion we shared during filming.”

Haruhi Iuchi, who plays Daiga Hanamichi / BunRed, added:

“The shoot took place last summer, so it's been a while since I saw the King-Ohger cast. It feels different being together again, and I'm happy to talk about the movie in front of fans.”

Light-Hearted Banter and Behind-the-Scenes Moments

During the event, the two Red Rangers—Iuchi and Sakai—attempted to share behind-the-scenes stories but struggled not to spoil the film. In a moment of levity, Sakai recalled filming inside the Boonboom Supercar:

“It had air conditioning, so it was super refreshing during the hot summer shoot!”

Their gentle exchange drew laughter and warm reactions from fellow cast members, who commented:

“That was so wholesome,” and “Red suits really do share a similar vibe.”

Super Sentai's 50th Anniversary Delivers a High-Octane Collaboration

The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the Super Sentai franchise, and this commemorative V-Cinema film presents a long-awaited team-up between Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger and Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. Themed around "delivery heroes and kings," this high-energy crossover promises thrilling action and character-driven storytelling.

The film is directed by Hiroyuki Katō, who previously helmed episodes in both series, and written by Atsuhiro Tomioka, the lead writer for Boonboomger.
