The special program All Super Sentai Mega Poll will be broadcast live on Japan's public broadcaster NHK BS from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM on May 17. To commemorate the event, voting will be open from April 5 to May 6.

"Five heroes united—Gorenger!" This iconic line kicked off a genre that would span generations. NHK’s popular “All ○○ Mega Poll” series returns for the first time in three years, this time focusing on the Super Sentai series, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2025.

Starting with Himitsu Sentai Gorenger in 1975, the franchise features teams of five color-coded heroes—men and women—who fight evil in dramatic, action-packed stories. From the third series onward, giant robots became a staple, captivating audiences of all ages.

Themes such as animals, vehicles, dinosaurs, and ninjas have been incorporated throughout the franchise's history, helping it evolve and remain a massive hit to this day.

The upcoming poll will be conducted in three categories: “Series” (all 49 works), “Sentai Heroes” (over 300 characters), and “Sentai Robots” (more than 160 machines). During the live broadcast, NHK will count down the rankings and share passionate messages from fans as they explore what makes each entry so beloved.

Voting opens on April 5, exactly 50 years after the first episode of Gorenger aired. As of now, it is unclear whether fans outside Japan will be able to participate.
