Episode 38 of the anime The Apothecary Diaries, titled "Dancing Ghost", will air on April 11 at 11:00 PM (JST) as part of the "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" block on Nippon TV. The episode's synopsis and preview images have been unveiled.

"Dancing Ghost"

While accompanying Xiaolan on one of her visits to the bathhouse, Maomao hears a strange tale from Lady Lishu—she claims to have seen a ghost in the Kongō Palace bathhouse. Shaken with fear, Lishu describes an eerie white face that appeared behind a swaying curtain in the next room.

Concerned by Lishu’s state, Maomao suggests she consult Jinshi. Later, Jinshi orders Maomao to uncover the mystery.

As Maomao investigates the source of the ghostly sighting, she discovers not only the true identity of the ghost, but also hidden troubles haunting the Kongō Palace and Lady Lishu herself…

Based on the light novel series The Apothecary Diaries by Natsu Hyuuga with character designs by Touko Shino, the franchise boasts over 38 million copies in circulation. This mystery-solving entertainment follows Maomao, a pharmacist with a peculiar obsession with poisons and medicines, and Jinshi, a mysterious and handsome eunuch, as they unravel complex incidents in the imperial palace.

In Season 2, tensions escalate in the imperial palace with the announcement of Empress Gyokuyou’s pregnancy. Adding to the intrigue are the arrival of Consort Rouran, daughter of a key minister from the previous emperor’s era, an unprecedented unresolved attempt on Jinshi’s life, and the disappearance of suspect Sui Reiyuu.
