A creditless version of the ending sequence for The Apothecary Diaries (TAD), featuring the ED theme “Hitorigoto” by Omoinotake, has been officially released.

The new ending animation centers around Maomao, Xiaolan, and Shisui. It gently portrays the moment Maomao and Shisui first met through a small cat named Meimei, and how Xiaolan—an ever-chatty bridge between the two—helped deepen their growing friendship.

Alongside the ending sequence, a newly drawn jacket illustration by Yukiko Nakatani has also been revealed. It features the beautifully rendered cityscape of the Land of Li in the background, with Maomao and Shisui sitting back to back at sunset. Their expressions and eye contact hint at deeper emotions—what could they be thinking?

The Apothecary Diaries follows a former apothecary girl working within the palace of a certain continent’s empire. Using her knowledge of poisons and medicine, she solves mysterious incidents occurring in the inner court. Through Maomao’s deductions, viewers also learn fascinating details about medicinal practices and hidden dangers in daily life.

With over 40 million copies of the series in circulation, the anime’s first season aired from October 2023 to March 2024. The first cour of season 2 ran from January to March 2025, and the second cour began airing on April 4, 2025.
