About the Crunchyroll Anime Awards

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards is an annual awards event celebrating the creators, musicians, and cast driving the anime industry forward. The 9th Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025 ceremony will take place on May 25 at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa, with a worldwide livestream broadcast. Sony Music Solutions Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan), and U.S.-based Dempsey Productions will jointly produce the event.

About Eligibility Criteria

From 2025, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards has updated its selection criteria and voting period to clearly define eligible works and moved the ceremony date from March to May.

The new eligibility criteria require at least one episode of a series to have aired or streamed online legally in Japan between January 1 and December 31 of the previous year, and at least one episode must also have streamed legally outside Japan within the preceding year.

For the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards only, eligible entries include anime from the five seasons between October 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024. This special measure ensures no eligible works or creators are overlooked due to the schedule adjustment.
