Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray is based on the ongoing manga of the same name serialized in Weekly Young Jump. With over 6 million copies in circulation, the manga is a major hit. The story centers on the strongest Uma Musume, Oguri Cap, following her "Cinderella story" as she races from a small-town track to national fame. The series depicts how the gray-haired girl came to be known as a “monster” on the track.
This anime adaptation coincides with the 40th anniversary of the birth of the real-life racehorse Oguri Cap. The anime is directed by Yuki Ito, series composition by Aki Kandaichi, character designs by Takuya Miyahara and Keigo Sasaki, and produced by CygamesPictures.
