On March 27, Nintendo aired its latest "Nintendo Direct 2025.3.27," a special presentation showcasing upcoming titles primarily set for release in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch. Among the announcements was the reveal of a long-awaited new installment in the beloved rhythm game series Rhythm Heaven.

Titled Rhythm Heaven: Groove, the game is a completely new entry and is scheduled to launch in 2026. It marks the first full-fledged new title in the franchise in years, delighting longtime fans with its return.

In an exciting development, the game will feature songs produced by Tsunku♂, the celebrated Japanese hitmaker known for his significant contributions to the series and for producing numerous J-pop hits. His involvement is expected to bring fresh yet familiar energy to the game’s music.

The Rhythm Heaven series began with the release of the original title on Game Boy Advance in Japan on August 3, 2006. The core gameplay revolves around players performing quirky, rhythm-based challenges in time with catchy tunes. The series later expanded to the Nintendo DS, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS, gaining international popularity for its charming aesthetic and addictive gameplay.
