At the event, children in attendance had the opportunity to ask the panelists questions. When asked, "Among the works you've handled, which one do you find the most interesting?" Kawakubo responded, "I was the editor for Attack on Titan, and I have to say, it was quite interesting." He then began discussing Isayama.
Kawakubo recalled meeting Isayama when he was just 19 years old and emphasized, "As a manga editor, one of the most important things I want to convey to the world is that Hajime Isayama is probably the most cost-efficient manga artist in the history of the industry."
He elaborated, "Isayama has never gotten angry at anyone, never complained, and never refused any adaptation, whether it be for animation, merchandising, or video games. He has never once said, ‘I don’t want to do this.’ He is truly an incredible person."
Kawakubo continued, "The term ‘cost-efficient’ is from my perspective, so it might not be the best expression." However, he explained, "He is able to create such an amazing manga while also being a genuinely wonderful person. That’s why I confidently believe that Hajime Isayama is the most cost-efficient manga artist in history. Every time I have an opportunity like this, I want to share that message."
