These local visuals depict various characters visiting and showcasing attractions across Japan's 47 prefectures. Popular character Athrun Zala, along with his best friend Kira and his lover Cagalli, are featured visiting nighttime Dotonbori among other places. The "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series began airing in October 2002, consisting of 50 episodes, and was the first Gundam TV series produced in the 21st century. It narrates the conflict between genetically modified humans (Coordinators) and ordinary humans (Naturals), split into military organizations Zaft and the Earth Alliance, respectively. The series portrays the struggles and growth of Kira Yamato, a Coordinator and the protagonist, through this war. The series not only retained its existing fanbase but also captured a substantial female audience, achieving a peak viewership of 8.0%. It sparked the second Gunpla boom among elementary school students, establishing itself as a "new generation Gundam series." Furthermore, the sequel TV series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY" began airing in October 2004, surpassing its predecessor with a record high rating of 8.2%. The series has sold over 4 million packages in total, extending its popularity beyond the television series through music and events, sweeping across Japan as a beloved work. The completely new movie "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM" continues the narrative as a sequel to "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY," unfolding new stories in a world still marred by conflict, featuring Kira, Athrun, and Shin.
