A Modern Supernatural Battle Story
Dead Account is a battle-action series that explores new paranormal phenomena in today’s digital age. It centers on Dead Accounts—social media profiles of the deceased that persist online due to lingering regrets. These accounts manifest in the real world as digital ghosts known as Bake Aka (Dead Account).
Soji Enishiro, the protagonist, initially works as a controversial streamer called Aoringo to earn money for his younger sister’s medical treatment. However, after a fateful encounter, he awakens the power of Denno and enrolls in Miden Academy—a school that trains a new generation of spirit mediums specialized in exorcising internet ghosts. The series unfolds with intense modern-style exorcism battles.

Author & Cast Comments
Author Sizumu Watanabe shared his thoughts on the anime adaptation, reflecting on the theme of generational shifts between analog and digital. “TV itself transitioned from analog to digital, and now, an anime adaptation of my work? It’s surreal. I hope fans enjoy DedoAka powered up by an amazing staff and cast.”
Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voices Soji Enishiro, highlighted the series’ unique concept: “The way social media usage translates into abilities is fascinating. I hope viewers also enjoy discovering why Souri became a controversial streamer.”
Meanwhile, Koki Uchiyama, voicing Kukuru Kasubata, described his character: “He’s quick to blurt out ‘Damn it!’ but has his own sense of justice. I want to bring out his passionate side.”
