Story Overview
Trapped in a time loop, Rita is forced to relive the same day repeatedly, fighting against an alien invasion with the memories and experience she accumulates.
As her mental state deteriorates in the never-ending war, she meets Keiji, who utters the words:
"I’ve been repeating this day too."
Their fateful encounter sets the stage for a high-stakes, action-packed sci-fi where they must break free from an endless battlefield.
A Fresh Perspective on All You Need Is Kill
Unlike the original novel and the 2014 Hollywood film adaptation starring Tom Cruise, the anime will introduce a new narrative approach, focusing deeply on Rita's emotions, isolation, and struggles, while exploring her bond with Keiji.
Director Kenichiro Akimoto’s Comment
"It is an honor to be involved in animating such an incredible novel.
With both a manga and a Hollywood adaptation, our goal is to enhance its value even further through STUDIO4℃’s signature visual storytelling.
I hope that viewers will find a small ray of hope in their everyday lives through this film."
